Barrington Solar recently completed a solar and battery installation for a homeowner committed to embracing sustainable energy. The client had previously installed a solar and battery system in 2019 and was looking to build upon that investment with an environmental and data-led approach.
The upgraded system was designed to significantly reduce the home’s energy costs and environmental footprint, while ensuring reliable performance and enhanced energy efficiency.
The system expansion consisted of 6 x 510W All-Black solar PV panels mounted on to a south facing roof. These panels, along with the existing 14 panels, were connected to a 5kW single-phase hybrid inverter installed in the garage. In addition, the battery storage capacity was increased to 23.3kWh to facilitate effective load shifting, further enhancing the overall value and performance of the system.
Project impact
This installation is projected to produce a substantial amount of electricity each year, decreasing the household’s dependence on grid power and cutting overall energy costs. This fully integrated setup addresses the client’s current energy requirements while supporting long-term sustainability objectives through a meaningful reduction in carbon emissions.
This means they should no longer need to pay standard rates for electricity. With solar exports managed effectively, any import costs are expected to be offset, placing the client in a broadly cash-neutral position.

Feedback from customer:
“We approached Barrington Solar to see what options were available to enhance our existing system. They were able to produce several suggestions, discussed the pros and cons and modelled the option we chose to demonstrate the projected benefits.
They were always very approachable and answered our queries promptly.
Our overall experience was excellent and we would highly recommend them.”
