Crown Point Estate contacted Barrington Solar following an update from their energy and FiT supplier that the solar array was no longer working. After several discussions exploring possibilities, we proceeded to carry out full fault finding and isolated the issue to two energy meters. Both these energy meters, showing errors, were not registering the energy being generated by the solar farm that was operating as expected. We contacted the manufactures of both meters to find neither were supported, and any errors would need to be resolved with a meter swap due to their age.
One of these energy meters, owned by Crown Point Estate, was replaced, allowing for effective monitoring of the array once more. The other meter, owned by the energy supplier, also needs replacing, however, due to restrictions, this must be performed by the energy supplier. To aid in smooth installation, we are continually liaising with Crown Point Estate to assist them through the replacement.
Project impact
The replacement of the array meter has eliminated one fault in the system allowing Crown Point Estate to pursue further fixes to receive their FiT once more.
