In our mission to deliver impactful energy solutions, Barrington Solar embarked on a large-scale residential project for a client aiming to drastically reduce their household energy costs due to their large air source heat pumps. The client also wanted to generate additional income through exporting power to grid helping to offset the winter periods. The largest consideration for this client was the aesthetics of the project. The request, maximise power density in the smallest footprint possible with the least visual impact. This project showcases our ability to provide robust and scalable renewable energy solutions through ground mount installations.
Through comprehensive site surveys, energy need assessments, and client meetings, we tailored the solution to meet the client’s specific requirements. The installation involved fitting 120 x 500W high-output solar PV panels on a low-profile ground mount system in the client’s garden, connected to 4 x 10.5kW single-phase hybrid inverters. To effectively reduce grid demand, ensure peak loads are met, and night time use was covered, we incorporated an 18.64kWh scalable battery storage system. The array was specifically placed in an area that both allowed for excellent solar generation, whilst reducing the visual impact of the array by utilising the gardens typography to our advantage.
Project impact
This installation is expected to produce substantial electricity annually, eliminating the client’s annual electricity bill, significantly reducing reliance on grid power, and enhancing the sustainability of the household operations for decades in the future.
